CHANTILLY, Va., May 8, 2013— NJVC, an information technology solutions provider headquartered in Northern Virginia, but with a large corporate presence in the St. Louis metropolitan area, announces the promotion of Steven Thomas to director, technical operations. Thomas is responsible for collaborating with engineers to deliver program roadmaps, championing the innovation program, overseeing the delivery of new and state-of-the-art services and interfacing with one of the company’s defense and intelligence customers.
Before joining NJVC in 2008, Thomas was project manager, joint deployable intelligence support system collection management mission applications systems, with L-3 Communications. He planned, developed, managed, tested and delivered all applications, components and hardware associated with the CMMA program. Earlier, Thomas was recalled to active military duty with the U.S. Navy as intelligence supervisor and project manager. Serving in the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit under Naval Expeditionary Combat Command in the United States Central Command Area of Operations, he was responsible for overseeing the intelligence program and command and control programs.Thomas most recently was program manager of a multi-year data center modernization effort with the same customer—a program valued at $120 million annually, and comprised of more than 50 individual projects running simultaneously to deliver the infrastructure for holistic enterprise architecture. Previously, he was project manager, and managed the implementation and transition of a number of new programs and processes.
Thomas also held supervisory positions with SAIC (mission chief), Global Payments (senior supervisor) and the U.S. Navy (operations specialist and watch officer). He is PMP certified, and received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
