Michael Owens, General Manager

As the general manager of NJVC, Michael Owens is responsible for developing and driving the corporate strategic plan while providing the vision, direction and leadership to ensure the company reaches its goals. Mr. Owens oversees all company divisions and manages and facilitates all organizational elements and client relations. Mr. Owens was named general manager Oct. 1, 2016, upon Chenega Corporation’s successful merger of the Information Technology Services & Solutions (ITSS) SBU with the Military, Intelligence and Operations Support (MIOS) SBU. In addition to his role at NJVC, Mr. Owens also serves as president of Chenega Technical Innovations, LLC (ChenegaTI), an Alaska Native American-owned small business primarily operating in the defense community.

Mr. Owens has more than 35 years of government experience and a 16-year record of successful customer service in the commercial sector. In 2005, Mr. Owens successfully established and grew an engineering business unit for Chenega Corporation that today provides a range of engineering services, information technology and enterprise lifecycle solutions, including specialized SETA and niche operational, special operations and intelligence services. Mr. Owens is a former chief of staff for a Joint Program Office which executed joint concept technology demonstrations, advanced technology and rapid prototype projects in support of geographic combatant commanders, including the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) deployable headquarters.

Mr. Owens graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University, and cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Management and a minor in Information Systems from University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland.
